Last year, VeilSun demonstrated our unwavering commitment to giving back to our communities through a variety of charitable activities and donations. As a close-knit team with offices in several US cities, we take pride in making a positive impact in our local areas, with a focus on engaging in hands-on service whenever possible.
From packing boxes of food for those in need to donating to organizations that support education, disability services, and community building, VeilSun's generosity and dedication to social responsibility have left an indelible mark on our communities.
Giving Back Through Volunteering
One of the most impactful events we organized in 2022 was our first in-person service day. On July 11th, volunteers from the company worked tirelessly to pack 251 boxes of food, adding up to a total weight of 5,080 lbs! Half of the team volunteered to help make the meals that were then distributed to those in need. These meal boxes provided over 4,000 meals to members of the community. Providing meals to hungry members of our local community was deeply rewarding and inspiring for all of us involved.
Another instance of the team's generosity can be seen in our efforts to collect LEGO sets for the victims of the Marshall Fire in Colorado. On Dec. 30, 2021, the Marshall Fire damaged or destroyed more than 1,000 homes and businesses in Superior, Louisville and Boulder County, CO. After the disaster, the Marshall Fire community requested LEGO set donations for all the children who lost everything in the fire. The VeilSun team spearheaded a donation initiative to collect thousands of LEGO bricks. For many of us, LEGOs were a key part of our childhood joy and creativity, so it was especially meaningful to be able to contribute.
We also participate in an annual "Adopt a Family" tradition. In 2022, the team chose a family of four from Smith Elementary School, a school in North Park Hill, Colorado. Our team purchased, wrapped and donated items from the family's wish list that included grocery gift cards, clothing and shoes for the children, as well as Christmas toys. Although not on the wish list, we also purchased gifts for the single mom – since holidays are for everyone.
Supporting Our Communities Through Donations
VeilSun's charitable donations in 2022 included supporting several service organizations that make a significant impact on their communities. These organizations are the FBMS Virtual Arts fund, Village Learning and Achievement Center, and Colorado Sled Hockey.
The FBMS Virtual Arts fund is an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts in public schools. The fund provides financial assistance for art programs and helps to supply classrooms with necessary materials such as paint, paper, and instruments. By supporting the FBMS Virtual Arts fund, VeilSun is helping to provide opportunities for children to explore their creative talents and build skills that can serve them for a lifetime.
The Village Learning and Achievement Center is a non-profit organization that provides support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The center offers a range of programs and services, including education and vocational training, community integration, and socialization opportunities. The center is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live independent and fulfilling lives, and VeilSun's donation will help support this important mission.
Colorado Sled Hockey (CSH) is an organization that provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in ice hockey. The program is designed for individuals who have physical disabilities that make it difficult or impossible to play traditional hockey. CSH provides adaptive equipment and training to enable participants to play and compete in sled hockey tournaments. By supporting Colorado Sled Hockey, VeilSun is helping to promote inclusivity and provide opportunities for individuals with disabilities to enjoy the benefits of team sports.
We Believe In Giving Back
VeilSun's charitable donations in 2022 were not only diverse but also focused on supporting organizations that are making a significant impact in their respective communities. By supporting the FBMS Virtual Arts fund, Village Learning and Achievement Center, and Colorado Sled Hockey, we are living our values and helping to create positive change in the world around us.
This year, we are building an even more focused and sustainable set of programs for volunteer work and giving back to our local communities.
